The College of Business offers many opportunities to gain experience for today's global economy. Students can take short-term faculty led trips or take advantage of more traditional study abroad programs.
Study tours have become very popular at Alfred University providing students with a unique, credit bearing opportunity. College of Business faculty have supported past tours to France, Germany, the Philippines, Japan, China, and Ecuador and are actively planning new excursions.
Recent examples of study tours:
• Students studying international marketing and advertising in the Spring of 2007 attended the International Advertising Festival in Cannes, France. Known as the "Oscars of Advertising," the IAF takes place soon after the celebrated film festival and is the only gathering of the world's industry elites. Alfred University was the first university to take advantage of attending the program.
• Travel to Guam to present at a conference during spring break, March 2007.
The international conference was a two day academic conference on Business, Economics and Information Technology, with the theme of "Doing Business in the Global Economy: Economic, Political, Social and Cultural Environments".
• Students and faculty traveled to northern Italy for a 10 day business program in January 2007. Participants of the study tour visited Milan, Turin, Florence and Venice while gaining academic credit to satisfy degree requirements. |
