Classrooms
The F.W. Olin Building for the School of Business provides a variety of classroom settings, from small seminar rooms to a large multi-media lecture hall and a distance-learning classroom. While there is space to accommodate large classes, most School of Business classes have about 15 students, allowing plenty of opportunity for interaction with other students and faculty.
Stock Trading Room
Thanks to a generous gift from Alfred University Trustee Jeffery Maurer and his wife Wendy, a stock trading room was added to the Olin Building to keep students connected to real-world finances. The room includes:
- Tote boards
- Financial news displays
- Commodity exchange quote board
Technology
The Olin building is fully wired and includes one of the many open computing labs on campus. Technology is embedded into the curriculum and is apparent in the classrooms, labs, stock ticker, and stock trade room.
